Recycle Week 2020 – “Together – We Recycle”

Now in its 17th year, Recycle Week comes at a time when “Recycle Year” might be more apt, this year and every year for years to come!

That said, Recycle Week is a great time for everyone to get together and be reminded of the importance of preserving, up-cycling and recycling on our ever-fragile planet. Run by Recycle Now, the week gives thanks to the nation for continuing to recycle, despite the world having slowed down during COVID-19, under the theme ‘Together – We Recycle’.

The Week particularly recognises the work of key workers and other citizens in recycling and contributing to positive changes in the world around us.

Who’s getting involved?

Well done Sainsbury’s, Ocado, Co-op, Britvic, Highland Spring, Unilever, Lucozade Ribena Suntory, Danone, Suez, Ecosurety, PEPSICO, Reckitt Benckiser, Waitrose & Partners and Aldi for getting involved! They will be funding awareness activities on what can be recycled while urging people to do so much more often.

If you’d like to join them and donate, it’s not too late! Contact: PartnerEnquiries@wrap.org.uk.

Alternatively, businesses like ours are getting involved in any number of ways:

  • Using #RecycleWeek on social media
  • Using the” Recycle Now” swoosh beside their logo during Recycle Week
  • Posting content using the Recycle Week ‘Together – We Recycle’ – assets are available in the downloadable resource pack
  • Embedding Recycle Now’s popular Recycling Locator onto their website
  • Lighting up buildings, offices, local town halls and other iconic buildings green to show support during Recycle Week
  • Signing up to the Recycle Week 2020 E-newsletter

In 2019, Recycle Week reached a whopping 16 million people on digital channels alone. What’s more, an impressive 91 per cent of people who saw the campaign said they recycled more than in the previous year. Let’s see if the 2020 Recycle Week manages to beat all records ☺
