Remembrance Day Covid-Style

Covid-19 won’t ever stop us from remembering those who served in World War Two, as well as those who have defended our nation during the years since.

Events will go ahead, but quite differently this year, with all the right social distancing restrictions in place as bans on large gatherings remain in place.

How to get your poppies this year

The Poppy Appeal is still taking place so you can donate and get a poppy as usual, at supermarkets and shops across the UK.

You can also get poppies sent in the post from the Royal British Legion to be delivered to yourself as well as family and friends while restrictions are still in place.

Events from home

The Royal British Legion suggests some other ways to honour Remembrance Day from home:

  • Hold a small Remembrance service in your garden, while sticking to the Government’s rule of six guidelines.
  • Create a Remembrance space in your garden and plant flowers and plants linked to Remembrance.
  • Host your own online Remembrance service or activity.
  • Create an online exhibition of Remembrance-related photos from local residents for schools or others to use.
