Have you dug out your Christmas jumper yet?

There may be no one in the office and no carol concerts or Christmas markets, but Covid-19 won’t stop us from digging out our Christmas jumpers from the back of the wardrobe for fun, frolics and giving.

With Children in Need’s Christmas Jumper Day on Friday 11 December, two weeks before Santa comes to town, it’s definitely time to get that jolly jumper out. There’s fun to be had with the stars on the TV as well as with your family and virtual friends.

No excuses if you don’t have one: decorate any sweater with flashing lights, tinsel and pompoms or head to M&S, ASDA, Tesco or any other large chain to find the perfect one!

Wearing a Christmas jumper certainly lifts our moods – and we could all do with some of that. Of course, to take part fully, you’ll need to make a minimum donation of £1 to Save the Children.

It’s not all in vain. Every bit counts.

Save the Children has said that £2 could help “warm some tummies, save some lives, and change the future. That’s big.”

Here’s how your money will help children in need across the globe this year:

  • £2 for hand sanitiser to help fight Coronavirus in Save the Children’s medical clinics
  • £6 for a face shield for health workers in Yemen
  • £10 for antibiotics to help five children beat malnutrition
  • £20 buys a back-to-school kit for a child in Indonesia
  • £60 buys toys and books for children from struggling families in the UK
  • £100 for a first aid kit for a health worker in Somalia
